Research & Development
In-house R&D is central to our work. In our laboratory, we determine the flow properties of biogas media and compile them in a slurry catalog – the foundation for all CFD studies. Validation follows a two-step approach: magnetic-inductive flow and PIV analyses in the lab, followed by torsion bar tests under real biogas plant conditions. The outcome: precise planning and reliable predictions of mixing performance before project implementation.
Our suspension test bench replicates tank geometry, internal components, and media properties, enabling precise simulation of flow behavior under real conditions. High-speed cameras and advanced analysis methods (e.g. image correlation and particle tracking) make solids movement, turbulence, and concentration visible and measurable. Different propeller types, sizes, positions, and speeds are systematically tested to evaluate sedimentation, homogeneity, and energy demand. The result: reliable data forming the benchmark for our CFD simulations.
